Duncan Garvie - Founder of BetBlocker | Part One
Alex Smith and Dave Sawyer were delighted to be joined for Online Casino HQ's first ever interview with Duncan Garvie, the Founder of the Responsible Gambling Charity BetBlocker.
Prior to establishing BetBlocker in 2017, Garvie may well be known to some of our visitors as the webmaster and founder of The Pogg which he setup back in 2006 and rose to prominence in the intervening years, becoming a designated ADR ( Alternative Dispute Resolution ) for the UKGC and the MGA.
Having seen firsthand during his work in iGaming with The Pogg how problem gambling affects people, their families and friends, Duncan decided he had to 'Pay it Forward' and thus BetBlocker came into being.
Unlike other blocking software, BetBlocker which is a recognised and registered Charity in Scotland, does not charge end users for its service.
Over the course of a near two hour chat over Skype which has been split into two parts, we discuss all things BetBlocker and more, in what we hope you will agree is an insightful and thought provoking interview.
Forming part of a double header, the first part of the interview with Duncan Garvie covers how BetBlocker came into being, the problems encountered along the way, plus his experience and role in providing an ADR Service.
